When you look at the picture above, what places comes to mind? If you are like most people, you're thinking of Tahiti. While Tahiti is a beautiful and magical place, it is also a very long day of travel. If you are considering a stay in an over-the-water villa, why not consider Jamaica instead? Sandals Royal Caribbean, in Montego Bay, is an adults-only, luxury, all-inclusive resort with a focus on romance. It is also one of the few places where you can fly for 4-5 hours and stay in an over-the-water villa. That's where the picture above is from, not Tahiti but Jamaica! Sandals Royal Caribbean is a great option for many reasons. It's easy to get to, it's a true all-inclusive experience, you'll have lots of choices for food, lots of choices with room types, and there is plenty to do if you are looking for activities. It's easy to get to. Once you land in Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean is so easy to get to. You'll be welcomed into the private Sandals lounge after clearing immigration, where you can grab a snack or a cold drink. When you are ready to depart, you'll be escorted to a comfortable coach bus that will take you to the resort, which is a quick 15 minutes away! This makes this a great option for a mini-break. It's all-inclusive and then some. One of the great things about Sandals resorts is that they include a lot of extras in the all-inclusive pricing. Extras like motorized water sports and diving. Sandals Royal Caribbean has all of these typical inclusions but it also has its own private island. It's about a 2-minute shuttle ride across the water and has beach areas, a small pool, whirlpool and spa area. It's also where the Thai restaurant and Jerk Shack are located. Some other inclusions are roundtrip airport transfers direct to the resort, all tips and gratuities (with the exception of butler and spa tips), and premium beer and liquor. Dining You have plenty of dining options at this resort. There are eight restaurants to choose from including French, Italian, Caribbean, a jerk shack and an English pub. There is also the only Thai restaurant in the entire Sandals chain - it's located on the private island, pictured above. You can even have afternoon tea - it may not be as good as tea in England but it's a fun option while you are in Jamaica! If you need more than that to choose from, there are 12 additional restaurant choices at the nearby Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Inn. Another option is to set up a romantic candlelight dinner - either on the beach or another area of your choice. Gentlemen - get bonus points by working with your travel agent to set this up as a surprise for your lady! Rooms As with many of the Sandals resorts, there are many room categories for you to choose from. The top of the line are the over-the-water villas and bungalows, of course. However, if you choose to stay on land, there are many great options as well. You can choose a room that walks out to the beach, a room that has a private plunge pool or one with an amazing view from the balcony. They will all come with a soaking tub on the patio or balcony. Don't worry, there are curtains that you can close for some privacy. Any of these rooms will have the option to have butler service. Sandals butlers are all trained by the Guild of Professional Butlers. If you haven't stayed in a room with a butler before, I recommend giving it a try, even if it's just for part of your vacation. It takes your experience to another level. I think once you try butler service, you won't want to go without it again. There is a lot to do (or not do!) If you like to be active on your vacation, Sandals Royal Caribbean has you covered. If you like to be on (or in) the water, they have snorkeling, scuba diving, sail boats, kayaking, hobie cats and more. If you are more of a landlubber, you can choose from beach volleyball, bocce ball, lawn chess, croquet, tennis, and more. There is also a full-service fitness center so you won't have any interruptions in your fitness routine, unless you choose to! If you are looking for a change of scenery, you can access the other two Sandals resorts in Montego Bay for no charge - they even provide a shuttle service for you to get there! All of this, including scuba, is included with your stay so there are no worries about additional costs for activities. If you prefer not to be active, you have options as well. They have an amazing spa for a relaxing massage or facial. There are several pool areas and the beach is the length of the resort so whether you prefer pool or beach, music and people or a quiet spot to relax, there is a place for you at Sandals Royal Caribbean.
