Hotels in Tuscany

2/3/2020

When it comes to Tuscany, there are a lot of different hotel options.  All of that choice can be a little overwhelming. How do you know which location is best in comparison to what you want to do?  How can you be sure that the hotel you choose will look like it’s pictures and be exactly what you were hoping it would be? A good place to start is with the hotels below.  These are three of my favorites in the Tuscany region.

Castello di Velona
On a hill overlooking the Val d’Orcia, this renovated fortress turned into a hotel seems to have it all.  There are the hotels vineyards, where their Brunello di Montalcino is produced from.  They also have olive groves where they make organic olive oil.  You can dine at their 5-star restaurant, swim in the pool overlooking the beautiful scenery, or relax at their thermal spa.  It’s a lovely escape from which you won’t want to leave - I know I didn’t!
Borgo Santo Pietro

This luxury hotel lives on a 270 acre farm estate.  Although it is a very large property, there are only 20 rooms at the hotel.  There are many little nooks throughout the estate where you can have a quiet moment, and they have a world-class spa where you can pamper yourself.  Although they have a michelin-starred restaurant, I loved the more casual Trattoria Sull'Albero, which literally means “treehouse” because this restaurant was literally build around a tree!
Relais La Corte dei Papi

This property has been in the Papi family for seven generations!  It was a working farm until the current owner, David, decided that he would rather be a hotelier than a farmer.  He’s created a beautiful little oasis in the middle of the Tuscan countryside, just outside of Cortona. The hotel has amazing spa suites, with oversized jacuzzi tubs and sensory showers equipped with music, lighting, and aromatherapy.  They also have an amazing restaurant serving up fresh, local dishes, and a pool to relax in.
If you are intrigued by any of these, reach out to me here and I can help.  With my personal contacts at these hotels, along with many others throughout Italy, I can put together an amazing vacation or honeymoon for you.  Or considering joining my small group trip in May.  You can see the details here - hurry, there are only 2 spots left!
